One of the main attractions are the ruins of the ancient Novogrudok castle. Navahrudak Castle (Castle of Mindovg) was built on the site of ancient settlement on Castle Hill - a high, partly artificial hill, which was surrounded by a moat.

The first fortifications were circular defensive wall with wooden buildings. A stone square tower was built at the beginning of the XIII century , which was called the Shield or Central. It served as the main element of the defense for the first time erected a stone castle on the site of the remains of wooden zamchischa. Castle with a central tower was founded the first Grand Duke of Lithuania Mindaugas. The tower survived the assaults of Galicia-Volyn, Tatar and some other troops, and in the end of the XIV century, rebuilt it, but of brick.

Preparing to defend the settlement against raids by the Teutonic Knights in the castle were built three towers - Kostelnaya Small Tower - Brahma and craftsmen who were interconnected walls at the end of XIV - early XV centuries. On the western slope of the Castle Hill is a spring over which built the tower sump. In this tower there was a secret entrance to the castle and a special pass to the water. As such Navahrudak Castle Crusaders withstood numerous raids.

New wall tied it with Shield Tower. At the same time, in the south-eastern slope was further elevated Mesquite Tower-Gate that connects the walls with well tower and Little Brahma. The result is a two polygonal defensive zone, one of which was at the top, and the other - on the hillside. In the XVI century Navahrudak Castle consisted of seven towers and was one of the most powerful fortifications in Belarus.

The castle suffered considerable damage during the Russian-Polish war 1654-1667 years. Mesquite tower, Well, Little Brahma and craftsmen were completely destroyed. The final blow to the castle wall caused the Swedes during the Northern War. By the beginning of the XX century from the top of the castle there were only three towers: Patrol, shields and Kostelnaya. During the XIX century, were demolished remains of the first of them, and in 1906 collapsed and Kostelnaya tower. During the First World War, collapsed south tower shield wall. Only in 1921, the ruins of the castle tried to take custody of, and in the years 1922-1930 it had a partial preservation of the surviving walls, towers and walls Kostelnaya were actually stacked again.

Jousting festivals and tournaments held annually on the territory of Novogrudok castle.
